The release notes for DATEX II v2.1 list all updates of the new version compared to the previous official version 2.1.
The DATEX II Exchange Platform Specific Model (Exchange PSM) has not been updated since the release of the v2.0 documentation set. Therefore all references to the Exchange PSM in this v2.1 release documentation set refer to the Exchange PIM in the v2.0 documentation set which can be downloaded from here.
Updated WSDL for 2.1 can be downloaded here. Only change is that it refers to the 2.1 XML schema.
v2.1 of the DATEX II platform independent model.
This can be viewed or managed by the Enterprise Architect Tool that can be downloaded here. In addition a browsable version of the model is also provided.
The top level entry point into the model is reached via the path “Logical:D2LogicalModel” which contains all publications, management information and exchange protocol meta-data for a DATEX II interface. Although the UML model includes other parts (Analysis, Dynamic and Functional), these are included as supporting information only and are referred to in other parts of the DATEX II reference set of documents (please see the specific specification on the Exchange Platform Specific Model).
HTML UML Model v2.1 (browsable version)
HTML Model Zip (for local use)
Software that automatically generates a XML schema from a UML model. Requires Windows and Microsoft .Net framework 2.0.
XML Schema that has been automatically generated by the XML Schema generation tool from the DATEX II UML model. The XML schema is used by PSM’s. The Zip archive includes two schemas, one with definitions and one without definitions.
This is the top level entry document into the DATEX II specification set. The document describes the way that modelling is handled in DATEX II, especially focusing on the data model aspects. Data modelling in DATEX II takes a formal, metamodel-based approach that allows the process of generating the transfer syntax to be implemented in software. A tool that creates an XML schema from the DATEX II data model based on this methodology is available from this website.
The methodology also caters for user generated model extensions, which can be created either in a constrained but backwards compatible way (so called “level B” extension), or as completely new model parts (“level C”) which provide more flexibility for the price of losing compatibility to the standard model (referred to as “level A”). A feature that is actually more related to the tool than to the methodology itself - but that is also briefly described in the Methodology document - is the possibility to deselect optional features during XML schema generation, which allows for application/service specific Profiles, which are fully upwards compatible to the full schema.
This guide contains documentation for the mapping tool between UML and XML Schema. It is targeted towards users of the DATEX II Schema generation tool.
The DATEX II Exchange Platform Independent Model (Exchange PIM) has not been updated since the release of the v1.0 documentation set.
This document is a guideline for creating extensions in DATEX II.
The DATEX II information model is a vast model for all kinds of information that is possibly exchanged in the traffic and travel domain. In operational practise the implementers of information links focus on parts of the model only, as these parts are relevant for their operational exchange requirements.
To manage this focus and in order to ensure the standardisation of subdomains, the concept of profiling is developed. In this guideline the way a profile can be defined to support a specific information link, is provided.
This guideline is made especially for developers
